Application-Specific Solar Solutions

Solar System for Farm

This solar system for farm range is engineered for agricultural duty: irrigation pumping by day, cold storage through the night, and mounting built for dust and wash-down. Every solar system for farm we ship is quoted factory-direct — FOB from our Foshan plant or CIF to your port — after we read your pump curves and cold-room load.

Irrigation farms, poultry and dairy operations, and agro-processing sites.

Pumping is also where farm systems most often get specified wrong. A pump draws 3–7× its running current on start, so the contactor and its coil have to be rated for the surge rather than the nameplate — and the level or pressure sensor should never carry motor current at all. Those seven rules, borehole and submersible duty included, are spelled out in a practical guide to relay-based pump control.

Product FAQ

How do you size a solution for my specific site?
We start from data, not guesswork: your appliance or equipment list, daily usage hours, roof or land availability, and grid/outage situation. From that we produce a load analysis and a sized proposal with firm pricing. Site photos and a recent electricity bill (or genset fuel log) speed the process considerably.
Do you send engineers to install?
Most projects are installed by local crews with our video guidance and live remote commissioning — proven across 135+ countries. For large or complex plants we can discuss on-site engineering support. Either way, every system ships with complete drawings and manuals.
Can solar really run irrigation pumps?
Yes — pumping is one of solar's best fits because water demand peaks with sunshine. We size the array to your pump's starting surge (often 3× running kW) and daily water volume, then add storage only if you need night pumping. Many farms run pumps direct from solar by day and grid/genset at night, cutting diesel use dramatically.

Solar system for farm: Price & Payback

The biggest fork in the solar system for farm price is whether you need night autonomy. Irrigation-only systems run almost entirely on daytime generation and need little or no storage, which keeps them close to module and inverter cost. Add a cold room and the battery becomes the budget line: storage typically adds 35–50% of total system cost. Tier-1 modules run $0.28–0.48 per watt FOB, and sea freight plus clearing usually adds 20–35% over FOB.

Cost factorTypical figure (2026)
Solar modules$0.28–0.48 per watt FOB, tier-1 supply
Sea freight & landed costTypically +20–35% over FOB to West Africa / Southeast Asia ports
Storage share35–50% of total system cost where batteries are included
Payback3–5 years against grid power; under 18 months when replacing diesel

For a verified reference point: a 100kW solar system with a 215kWh BESS cabinet quotes CIF $88,000–115,000 — the class most mid-size farms with cold storage land in. Irrigation-first systems sit well below that because they skip the battery. Against grid or diesel pumping costs, payback runs 3–5 years, and under 18 months where diesel is the displaced fuel.

Solar System for Farm: by Country

Agro-processing is where farm solar pays back fastest. In Nigeria, rice milling and processing loads are the classic case — see the Nigeria agro-processing solar guide for the load profile and sizing logic. In the Philippines, cold storage for produce and fish drives the design — read the cold storage solar guide for the Philippines before choosing battery autonomy hours.

The IEA solar PV market track is a good neutral reference for global module price direction.
